At a glittering ceremony hosted by Her Excellency, President Joyce Banda of Malawi in Lilongwe, nominees for the 2013 edition of the African Movie Academy Awards were announced to a crowd of African dignitaries and filmmakers from around the world.

Entries from America, Canada, France, Germany, Guadalupe, Italy, Jamaica, and the UK also got nominations.

This year, a total of 671 films were submitted for consideration and winners of the most popular awards ceremony in Africa will be announced on April 20th 2013 in Bayelsa state, Nigeria.

Katy Perry to sign $2 million book deal?

The 'Wide Awake' singer is said to have agreed a deal to write an autobiography titled Part of Me, according to The Sun.

The book will allegedly chart her life and career so far, including her marriage and divorce from Russell Brand.

Perry is said to be hoping to bring out her story soon, in case Brand unveils another chapter of his Booky Wook series.

A source said: "Several publishers have been after Katy for a while. She decided to go ahead so fans don't have a one-sided story when Russell publishes another Booky Wook."

Katy Perry is currently dating singer John Mayer. Friends of the pair recently denied rumors that they had got engaged.

Perry divorced Russell Brand in late 2011. She is currently working on her next studio album, the follow-up to the highly successful Teenage Dream.

Just months after purchasing a $45 million dollar jet, and a few days after recklessly doling out several thousands of dollars to Nigerian music star, 2Face and his wife, Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio has taken possession of several bulletproof sprinter luxury vans from US based Texas Armoring Corporation (TAC).
A source told Saharareporters that the governor took delivery of the Mercedes Benz made vans recently after they were customized to his specifications by TAC in Texas.

Well its about time. At 73-years-old Tina Turner has landed her very first Vogue cover. And since Meryl Streep was American Vogues oldest cover girl at 62, this might make her the oldest Vogue cover star of all time, too.

The legendary singer covers Vogue Germanys April issue, lensed by Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer and styled by Nicola Knels.

Its kind of a surprising choice for Vogue Germany, which generally prefers young starlets and models-of-the-moment for its cover features but its a welcome one.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have quietly put their homes on the market, the couples who recently just splashed out $11 million Dollars on a brand new mansion reportedly couldn't wait to move in together as they are expecting their first child.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are apparently proud new owners of an $11 million mansion.
The TV personality and the rapper announced last week that they are expecting their first child , and now it seems they have purchased a luxury nest in anticipation of their new arrival.
TMZ reports the couple have invested in a lavish 10,000-square-foot pad, in a gated community in Bel Air, California.
According to the publication, the socialite and her singer beau have owned the property for a few weeks and have already started to transform it into a 14,000-square-foot dream home.
According to sources close to the parents-to-be, their new accommodation will be an Italian-style villa.
Among other things, the new house will allegedly boast a gym, movie theatre, full hair and make-up salon, bowling alley, basketball court and indoor and outdoor pools.
Fellow famous faces in the neighbourhood include Jennifer Aniston and film producer Joe Francis.
Despite seeming ready to settle in their family home, the insiders say Kim and Kanye have no plans to get engaged or set a wedding date.
The couple have been dating since April last year and Kanye announced Kim was pregnant during one of his concerts recently.
